Morning Slumber

Oil On Linen Canvas

30 x 40cm

I’d recently heard that bees fall asleep in flowers. How strange, I thought. A peculiar fantasy. Imagine my surprise as I walked through the park early in the morning; on my left, people in their cars, heading to work. On my right, one of the busiest worker this world has, fast asleep, the day ahead of him still. He rests, holding on to the petal, breathing deeply, content. The flower in turn hugs him, holds him close. They cuddle, peaceful in the morning light.
